Klasira vs Skool: Community or Course School? (2026)
Skool is a community first, with courses, gamification, live calls and a discovery network. Klasira is a course school with checkout, quizzes and certificates. Which model suits your business.
Skool has become a popular home for paid communities. Each group gets a community feed, a classroom for courses, a calendar for live calls, and points, levels and leaderboards that reward members for taking part. Skool handles payments and tax itself and sends traffic through its own discovery directory.
Klasira is a course platform: a designed school site, courses with quizzes, assignments and certificates, downloads, a checkout with bumps, upsells and payment plans, and a community, selling through the creator's own Stripe account. The question isn't which is better, but whether you're building a community or a school.
The short answer
Choose Skool if your product is the community: members, discussion, live calls and gamification, with courses inside, tax handled for you and a directory that can send new members. Choose Klasira if your product is the course: a branded school with quizzes, certificates, downloads and a full checkout, paid into your own Stripe account.
Key takeaways
- Skool has two plans: Hobby at $9 a month and Pro at $99, each with a 14-day free trial.
- Skool's fees include card processing: 10% + 30¢ a sale on Hobby; 2.9% + 30¢ on Pro (3.9% + 30¢ above $900).
- Skool is the merchant of record: it collects and pays sales tax and VAT, and pays out weekly through a Skool-managed Stripe Express account.
- We found no quizzes, certificates, coupons or payment plans in Skool's help center; on Hobby, custom URLs and affiliates aren't included.
- Klasira charges 0% transaction fees and pays every sale straight into your own Stripe account, so the only cut of a sale is Stripe's (or PayPal's) processing fee.
Disclosure: we make Klasira, so weigh our view accordingly. Everything we say about Skool comes from its own public pages, checked in October 2026 and linked at the end. Klasira is new and does less than Skool in several areas; we list them.

| How you're paid | Your own Stripe account, on Stripe's schedule | Weekly, every Wednesday, through a Skool-managed Stripe Express account |
| Tax | Stripe Tax calculates and collects, if you turn it on; you file | Skool collects, files and pays sales tax and VAT |

Skool pricing and fees
Skool's two plans include card processing in the transaction fee, so there's no separate Stripe fee. Its pricing page offers yearly billing with two months free. Members pay in US dollars.
| Skool plan | Price | Transaction fee |
|---|---|---|
| Hobby | $9/month: unlimited members, courses and live calls; no custom URL or affiliates | 10% + 30¢ a transaction (includes processing) |
| Pro | $99/month: custom URL, affiliates, Pro plugins (Zapier, webhooks and more) | 2.9% + 30¢, or 3.9% + 30¢ above $900 (includes processing) |
Klasira: 0% transaction fees on every plan, with each sale paid into your own Stripe account. Plan prices are on Klasira's pricing page; we leave them out here so this post doesn't go stale when they change.
Because Skool's fee includes processing, Pro at 2.9% + 30¢ costs about the same per sale as Stripe alone on Klasira. Hobby's 10% is the expensive one: on $60,000 of sales a year it's $6,000 plus 30¢ a sale, so a growing community soon pays for Pro.
